March 20, Centre culturel suisse.Paris. The good ship continent. returns to the CCS to discuss friendship and the “Body of Us” exhibition from the London Design Biennale.
January 7–10, 2019 American Philosophical Association Eastern Division Meeting. I am the liaison between the International Society for Chinese Philosophy and the APA Eastern, and so I am coordinating the ISCP’s panels at the upcoming Meeting.
September 4–23, London Design Bienniale, Somerset House. continent. is thrilled to be part of the Swiss contribution to the LDB.
May 21–25, Reproduciendo en L’Automàtica, Barcelona. The crew of the good ship continent. is joining our friends in Barcelona (ES) for a week of reading, discussions, writing and making in the Catalan capital about maternity, as a mode of creation, care, and continuance.
January 3–6, 2018 American Philosophical Association Eastern Division Meeting. I will present a paper entitled “Medical Models of Reality Are Metaphysical Models: Opium Use in Early Modern China” at an International Society for Chinese Philosophy panel.
November 30–December 3, 1948: Technosphere Unbound. The crew of the good ship continent. continues its partnership with the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin.
October 22–26, Anthropocene Campus Philadelphia. Scott Knowles of Drexel University has invited continent. to participate and generate materials with the participants of this multi-site, transdisciplinary meeting.
June 13–14, “The Publishing Sphere—Ecosystems of Contemporary Literatures,” at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin. The crew of the good ship continent. partners with Lionel Ruffel, Annette Gilbert, and Franziska Morlok.
May 12, “Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning’s Annual Conference on Scholarly Teaching” at Georgia State University. I will be discussing Atlanta as a site for critical reflection when teaching contemporary art.
April 24–30, Freies Theater Innsbruck. The good ship continent. will be publishing its findings from the April 2016 Technosphere x Knowledge events in collaboration with the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin.
April 7–8, “Maintainers II,” at Stevens Institute of Technology. The merry crew of the good ship continent. will be hosting a workshop on book repair as a mode of publication in order to celebrate the release of the new issue of continent. “r3pair volume.”
